Blake and Goldie Engagement Shoot

DSC07284.jpg

It was a real pleasure for me to do this shoot with Blake and Goldie. I worked with Blake and used to see him every day in the office. Once he started dating Goldie, he would talk about her often and his face would light up every time he did. It was clear she was very special to him. That happiness hasn't stopped and carried over into this shoot. They were having such a good time just being together that they didn't stop smiling this time either.

They are both UCLA graduates and still live in Los Angeles so it was a no brainer for them to go back to the campus they have each spent so much time on for their shoot. Aside from the beautiful architecture, it is a place that holds special meaning to them.

We met on a Sunday afternoon hoping that the lighting would be good and that there wouldn't be many people around. The lighting turned out great but the whole not crowded thing....not so much. Turns out there was a play going on in an auditorium near by and it let out just as we got there. Before long, a couple hundred people flooded out of the building and into the area where we wanted to shoot. However, with a little patience and some creative camera angles, we were able to keep the other people out of the photos and keep the focus on the happy couple.
